Vermiculite has many uses in your outdoor or indoor garden. It's ideal for propagation from seed, raised bed conditioning and makes great potting mixes for house plants and hanging baskets. Also use as an additive to soil mixes to increase nutrient uptake and water retention, as well as providing oxygen to roots.
Horticultural vermiculite has the excellent property of improving soil aeration while retaining moisture and nutrients to feed roots, cuttings and seeds for faster, maximum growth. Horticultural vermiculite is permanent, clean, odourless, non-toxic and sterile and it will not deteriorate, turn mouldy or rot. Vermiculite, when combined with peat/soil promotes faster root growth and gives quick anchorage to young roots. The mixture helps retain air, plant food and moisture, releasing them as the plant requires them.
Vermiculite is very light in weight, easy to handle and easily mixes with soil, peat, composted pine bark. It can be used as a carrier and a bulking agent and ensures more even distribution in mixing operations.
