| Gro-Tanks are a complete range of ‘ready to
grow’ NFT kits. Featuring catchment tank with built in sloped channel,
pump and delivery tube, nutrient acid, acid test kit, spreader mat, top
plate and full instructions |
How does it work?
| The Gro-Tank works in the following manner - nutrient
solution in the tank is lifted by the pump onto the channel. Once there,
it begins to flow down the channel, being drawn evenly across the entire
width of the channel by the spreader mat. As the solution flows down the
channel the plants will take what they need, anything not taken by the
plants falls back into the tank in order to be re-circulated.
The four sizes of the Gro-Tank ensure that one or more units will fit perfectly into the space you wish to devote to NFT.

What is included with the Gro-Tank?
In a standard Gro-Tank kit you get everything you need
to start growing straight away. A kit includes:
 | A pump - the pump in the Gro-Tank has a lift of 55cm,
an output of 4 litres per minute and is 5 watts - more than adequate for
even the biggest Gro-Tank. The pump is fully submersible with a flow
adjuster. The pump as standard equipment ensures reliability and
quietness. The pump also comes complete with a plug. |
 | Delivery tube / emptying tube - these are simply
attachments for the pump, in the case of the delivery tube it is to
carry nutrient solution to the channel, whilst the emptying tube is
attached to the pump in order to empty the tank. |
 | Spreader Mat - is a fibre matting that is placed
along the length of the channel. Its function is to ’spread’ the
solution flow evenly across the width of the channel. The plant roots
love it! Each Gro-Tank comes with 25ft of spreader mat. |
 | Nutrient - Obviously needed to nourish your plants
and make them grow. Nutriculture’s nutrient includes all the elements
your plant could need - it has been specially formulated to achieve
maximum growth from your plants. As it is a hydroponic food it is
soluble. The food is simple to use and is suitable for full seasons
growing. Each tank comes with a 500litre pack of food. Nutriculture
supply a hardwater food for hardwater areas and a universal food for
other areas. |
 | Acid - the acidity (pH) of the water for hydroponic
growing must usually be between 6 and 7.5. Sometimes your water may be
quite alkaline, so Nutriculture supply 125ml of Phosphoric acid with
every Gro-Tank in order to bring the water to the right quality.
|
 | Acid test Kit - is supplied with each kit so you can
test the pH of your water and solution. The kit is easy to use and
accurate. |
 | Top Plate - this is simply a black or white (your
choice) plastic corribord. You cut holes in it and put your plants
through the holes onto the channel. It has two functions, firstly to
keep excess light of the roots and secondly to give a little support to
your plants. |
