Q:

Could you recommend a specific fan controller for the futurtech fan?

A:

We have a voltage step controller which is an electromechanical type, it has five settings but doesn't have a temperature control side to it; you change the settings manually, which go from 1 to 5. The product is called a stepper 3.5 amp. There are temperature controlled versions of these controllers which we can order in, these start at £290 for the 8 amp which is more than enough.

Q:

Hello, would the PLUG AND GROW CFL 200W RED fit in CFL REFLECTOR 1 LAMP ? Also are they dangerous considering fire and such? thanks

A:

Yes, the plug and grow bulbs fit into the reflector. The CFL bulbs produce less heat so I would say that they would be less of a fire risk than standard HPS bulbs. You will obviously need to take all of the usual precautions as with any other indoor lighting such as keeping the bulb away from anything flammable you may get a heat build up but this would be less than a standard HPS bulb.

Q:

Hi can plants be left in same room as a forte fog fumer thanks

A:

Yes you can use the fumers in with your plants. Best things to do are make sure that the room is as sealed as possible, have your fans off and also either remove your carbon filter or seal it up completely with a bin bag or similiar. The fumers can attack the carbon in the filter.

Q:

Hi my grow room is at 31-32 degrees is that ok will my plants survive that heat?

A:

Your plants won’t survive too long in that heat! Most plants thrive between 25-29 degrees, so you need to bring your temperature down by about 4 or 5 degrees.

Q:

Hi Whats the best way of keeping the right temperature for your plants when you have a room thats well insulated - both for cooling it down in the summer and keeping it warm in the winter. Thanks

A:

The best way to keep the room cool in summer would be to use extraction and intake fans if you dont already have these? You can use air conditioning although we dont stock these units so we cant advise on how this would work. You can also use a water chiller to chill your nutrient solution which would keep your room temp down also. One great way is to use air cooled lights to keep the room cool - these can be linked to your extraction or set up using separate fans. The best option to keep the room hot is to then not use air cooled lights in winter and also have a passive heater in there such as a tube green house heater(s) and also possible water heaters for your nutrients.

Q:

Hi, what would you reccomend to use to prevent heat from your attic roof top ?

A:

I would recommend an intake and extract fan to constantly exchange the air in your attic space which would help to prevent excessive heat build up. Make sure the extractor fan is at the top of the space, near the ceiling, in order to remove the hot air which rises upwards. If you are concerned about losing heat through your roof we can recommend using an insulation or a heat containment foil which will reflect the light and heat back into the room.

Q:

What is the best light to use in a 240 / 120 tent?

A:

We would recommend using 2 x 600 watt lights in there and in the hot weather it would be better to have these as aircooled lights if possible.
